The Silver Lake Ballroom makes it home in the Hunter building, originally built in 1931 by Sam and Joe Hunter. This Art Deco masterpiece was originally home of the Hunter Oil and Investment Company and transformed into Silver Lake Ballroom after passing through the ownership of several automobile companies. In the late 1830’s, before the great raft on the Red River was removed, the vast Silver Lake covered much of what is present day Market Street and Youree Drive. The Hunter Building sits in what was once part of Silver Lake and to commemorate the history of the once sparkling Silver Lake, the Ballroom was named for it and designed to capture the historical elegance and originality of the once pristine lake in its decor. The Ballroom offers versatile spaces to fit your exact needs and preferences as a couple. The Lakeview Room is perfect for a private, intimate wedding with 300 square feet of space equipped with a bridal suite, mirrors, a couch, and a secret passageway for the bridal entrance. The Ballroom has 3000 square feet of open, airy space and neutral walls that look great with any color scheme or theme. The original terrazzo brass inlay floor is perfect for dancing and the Art Deco milk glass light fixtures give it a unique, vintage touch and great ambience. The Heritage Room also boasts 3000 square feet of space, full of character. New Orleans style 1930s murals flank the walls and the exposed red brick, exposed beams, and drop and twinkle lighting are sure to make this industrial room perfect for a classy, urban wedding. For a very industrial chic wedding, the enormous Warehouse with sky high ceilings is perfect for party and will delight with its neutral warehouse design, perfect for a low-key wedding celebration.
