Kim-Mai and Keith’s journey began in July 2014. They spent their first date exploring San
Francisco, getting to know one another and eating sushi at Royoko in the Tenderloin District.
They had a fantastic night and even enjoyed a night cap together at Le Colonial!
Throughout their time dating, Kim-Mai and Keith became closer than ever. They often
spoke about their future and fell deeper in love. Keith shares that “The happiest part of my day is when I walk through the front door after work and see Kim-Mai.”
Their story came full circle a few days after their first anniversary. They found themselves back
at their first date spot, Royoko! As the night came to a close, they made their way back to the
infamous Tenderloin alley where their journey began. Keith may not have kissed Kim-Mai the first night they met, which she loves to tease him about, but he had another idea planned for that Tenderloin alley - something that would hold significance for the rest of their lives.
“Will you marry me?” A delightful surprise for Kim-Mai. She had no idea what Keith had
planned. They had only been dating for a short period. But time is merely a number; they knew
that they were soul mates! She responded with a resounding “YES!”
Fast forward to November 5th, 2016, the big day! Keith describes that his favorite memory of the day was standing at the altar watching the church doors open to see Kim-Mai in her dress for the very first time!
Kim-Mai and Keith advise new couples to have an idea of where your overall budget is and to do your research ahead of time. "It was great for us to find a venue that had an all-inclusive price and included rentals, catering, and decor. It allowed us to focus on other priorities." They also suggest discussing with both families as early as possible to determine who is responsible for each portion of the wedding. Keeping these two insights in mind helped them stay organized so they could focus on having fun during their big day!
Thank you, Keith and Kim-Mai, for sharing your wedding and advice with us!
