Discover answers to frequently asked questions about outdoor wedding venues:
When should I start searching for an outdoor wedding venue?
We recommend you start at least a year to nine months before your wedding date, which means that the research and planning should begin a couple months before that. Wedding venues of your choice may have strict booking dates given the availability, and it’s always advisable to get hold of the space as soon as possible.
What time should an outdoor wedding start?
Depending on what season you have planned, always look for the time when the sun sets and plan accordingly. If you’re planning to host your big day during the summer, the ideal time would be any time later 3 p.m. — usually closer to 4 or 5 p.m. — to avoid the hottest part of the day and to line the rest of the festivities up with the sunset.
What do I do if it rains during my outdoor wedding?
The thought of rain on your wedding day may sound like your worst nightmare, and it’s certainly not ideal, but we have survival tips for you! It’s always advisable to speak to your venue in advance for a plan B for such instances. It could be an indoor room, a covered outdoor area, or a last-minute tent setup. Also, we advise that if there’s any sort of rain in the forecast, arrange for extra blankets, towels and umbrellas for your guests to keep them dry.
I’m having an outdoor wedding. Do I need to provide a place for my guests to stay?
If your venue doesn’t have spaces to offer for your guests to stay overnight, opt for room blocks at a nearby resort or hotel. If you choose to go this route, don’t forget to provide transportation options for your guests, too, whether that be buses, limos, or ride-sharing services.
We hope this list of beautiful outdoor wedding venues helps you pick the location of your dreams!
