Carnegie Building Overview
The City of Lawrence’s Carnegie Building is the ideal location for weddings and special events. With a variety of rooms available to host your special day, you’ll be able to turn your dream wedding into reality. Its classic ambiance provides elegant design, modern comfort and unique event space for any special occasion. This mid-size venue is an ideal space to create beautiful memories to last a lifetime. Originally built in 1904 through a Carnegie grant, it served as Lawrence’s first library. It also was home to the Lawrence Arts Center for several decades after the Lawrence Public Library had relocated.Venue Notes
The rental fee ranges from $570 to $995 for a ceremony and reception and includes 12 hours of event time including set up and clean up time. The fee for a ceremony only wedding ranges from $570 to $995. A refundable security deposit of $100 is required. Please note a permit is required to served alcohol.
