Le Musée de f.p.c., is a historic house museum located at 2336 Esplanade Avenue in New Orleans. It is one of the country’s few attractions dedicated exclusively to preserving the story of free people of color and their legacies. Free people of color, often abbreviated f.p.c., is the term used to refer to Blacks who were born free prior to the Civil War, Le Musée is a Greek Revival style residence located mid-way between the Mississippi River and Bayou St. John. It has two floors that have been beautifully restored to showcase their parlors with high ceilings, antique chandeliers and hardwood flooring where an intimate wedding can be accommodated. Beautiful french doors open onto a lush garden courtyard and a detached cottage making it the perfect venue for a romantic outdoor wedding. The character of this exquisite property has been meticulously maintained so today’s generation can enjoy its beauty and rich history. It would be a double delight to be in New Orleans and to have your special day at this very special venue.
