Sonora’s Opera Hall is a center of pride for our Historic Downtown. The Opera Hall began its’ rich history as a Flour Mill in 1879 from monies derived from the famed Bonanza Gold Mine. The Opera Hall is the center piece of our downtown hosting events every weekend of the year including: weddings, concerts, art shows, businesses expos and an array of community events, The Sonora Opera Hall truly represents the “Queen of the Southern mines” well!
This historic venue has been beautifully restored and features a stage area, beautiful hardwood floors, large windows, elegant burgundy velvet draperies. Exchange vows on the stage which is large enough to house an archway or other décor, make it as formal or informal as you wish, a head table for the bride and groom is always a must as the stage is elevate 3 feet from the floor. A wooden stair case opposite the stage rises to a mezzanine an overlooks the entire building. A covered porch is a perfect place for the bride and groom to take a quiet moment alone, or have pictures taken, your guest will enjoy just sitting and looking at the beautiful scenery that surrounds out area.
