Point Defiance Pagoda Overview
Inspired by Japanese architecture when it was built in 1914, the Pagoda is the focal point of Point Defiance Park's Japanese Garden. Surrounded by a Japanese garden featuring pools, a waterfall, a footbridge, sakura cherry trees, and an authentic Shinto shrine and Tori Gate presented by Tacoma’s Sister City in Kitakyushu Japan, the Pagoda serves as a venue for garden shows, classes and community celebrations. This rare historic site is also available as a scenic setting for your special wedding celebration. Maybe you would like to exchange your vows outdoors in the breathtaking setting. After, you can continue the festivities outdoors with an outdoor reception. Should the weather become chillier in the evening, you may opt to host your reception inside the brick building that is as warm and charming as the beautiful setting it is located in. The rental fee ranges from $800 to $1,200 for a ceremony and reception and includes 2 hours of event time excluding set up and clean up time. Additional hours can be arranged for a fee of $250/hr. A refundable security deposit of $500 is required. There is an additional clean up fee applied to all events.Amenities And Requirements

Requirements
- Alcohol must be served by licensed bartender/caterer- Amplified music OK indoors and outdoors- Approved outside caterer allowed- BYO alcohol- General liability insurance required- Music must end by midnight- No rice, birdseed, confetti, etc.- No smoking- Venue must approve all decorations
