River Farm Overview

With 25 acres of lawn, meadows, woodland, formal gardens, and scenic views of the Potomac, River Farm is a place of natural year-round beauty and a perfect showcase for your wedding any time of year. Begin the day in the dressing room on the second floor of the Estate House. Then move onto the red brick front steps for an intimate “First Look” moment. River Farm offers endless possibilities when choosing the perfect location for your wedding vows and reception; you might choose the meadow and the Potomac River as your ceremony backdrop, or perhaps you'll want to say your vows in the formal or informal gardens. After your ceremony, move onto the spacious wrap around porch of the classic white Estate House. It's the perfect spot for an amiable cocktail hour. During the wedding season, a 30' X 80' tent is provided over the slate patio, next to the Estate House and overlooking the Potomac River, creating a festive outdoor reception area that allows you to dine amongst the gorgeous landscaping. During the colder months the first level of the Estate House provides a fantastic historic space for your reception, including use of the ballroom for a wonderful night of dancing.

Venue Notes

The rental fee ranges from $2,400 to $12,900 for a ceremony and reception and includes 9 hours of rental time including set up and clean up time. The fee for a ceremony-only wedding ranges starts at $500. Additional hours can be arranged for a fee of $500/hr. A tent is included during peak season but is an additional fee of $3,500 during off-peak season.
