Walter C. Best Preserve, Geauga Park District Overview
Walter C. Best Wildlife Preserve is a 101-acre reservation located in Munson Township, 1.5 miles south of the City of Chardon. It is available to host your wedding celebration. The Preserve’s natural habitats provide your guests the opportunity to enjoy a rich diversity of plant and animal life. It is Geauga Park District’s intent to protect this natural area in perpetuity so events, like your wedding, will be filled with beauty and ease. The street-front parking area is convenient to locate and features an entrance pergola and small picnic shelter. The south entrance leads to the other activities your guests may enjoy, like the hiking trails. With benches and fishing platforms around the lake to provide vantage points, you and your guests will have no problem relaxing as you enjoy wildlife activity in a serene setting for your wedding celebration. The rental fee is $100 for a ceremony and reception and includes 17 hours of rental time excluding set up and clean up time. The fee for a ceremony only wedding is $100. Please note, rental fees (not including utility fees) are waived for county residents; inquire with venue for details.
