Mountain Run Station, Geauga Park District Overview
Mountain Run Station is a 32-acre park in southwestern Hambden Township that provides access to the section of The Maple Highlands Trail that runs from South Street in Chardon to Headwaters Park in Huntsburg Township. It is Geauga Park District's intent to protect this natural area in perpetuity so events, like your wedding, are filled with beauty and ease. The hilly terrain of Geauga County reaches its peak nearby – thus, the Lake Branch of the former Baltimore & Ohio Railroad and the site of today's Maple Highlands Trail became known as the "Mountain Run.” Chardon Rotary Shelter is available for your wedding. It features picnic areas with tables and grills for a relaxed and casual setting. Your guests will enjoy other activities at the park like fishing, trails and habitats. This park itself is primarily a lawn area. It attracts a variety of nesting songbirds and small mammals sheltered by the thickets for beautiful and natural atmosphere for your celebration. The rental fee is $100 for a ceremony and reception and includes 17 hours of rental time excluding set up and clean up time. The fee for a ceremony only wedding is $100. Please note, rental fees (not including utility fees) are waived for county residents; inquire with venue for details.
