A wedding at Oregon’s South Park Blocks will be truly picturesque and unique. The blocks between SW Park Avenue from Salmon Street to Jackson Street include classical sculptures, flowing fountains, paved paths, and public art. In 1877, florist and landscape designer Louis G. Pfunder was commissioned to plant 104 Lombardy poplars and elms between Salmon and Hall; his work set the precedent for these South Park Blocks to remain gorgeous and natural, “a cathedral of trees with a simple floor of grass”. Here, your ceremony or reception will be simply beautiful and will draw its character from the surrounding nature and artwork. Stretching through the heart of Downtown Portland, each park block features artwork, the most notable of which are bronze statues of two of the most influential leaders in American history: Theodore Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln. Take photos and charm your guests with these pieces of art, and don’t forget to pose in front of the granite mosaic between Market and Clay and in front of the gorgeous Shemanski fountain. At the South Park Blocks, you will boast a gorgeous garden plaza wedding with historical significance and timeless beauty.
