Schwinn Produce Farm started as a traditional family garden. The Barn at Schwinn Produce Farm is a unique place to have a memorable wedding with elegant and rustic flair. The Barn sits on a homestead that has been in the family since the late 1800s, when John Maurice Hund – great-grandfather of Joe and Jay Schwinn -- purchased it from Joel Hiatt, the original owner who secured the land after signing a treaty with the Delaware Indians. It sits in a part of the Salt Creek Valley that is steeped in history. In its heyday, the homestead featured fruit orchards, Anna Hund’s beautiful peonies and irises, an old-fashioned wash house, milk house, full barnyard, and the two-story farmhouse where many celebrations, reunions and family gatherings were held over the years. So many generations of Leavenworth County families can trace their roots back to this special place. The natural beauty perfectly preserved, the Barn now encompasses happy countryside living while giving off a vintage feel. A gorgeous park is available next to the barn, which is nestled within a canopy of trees, providing a beautiful setting for weddings during any of the four seasons. Watch flower blossoms sway and fall gently around the barn during the spring, impossibly green leaves reflect soft light in the summer, autumn foliage lighting up the barn during the fall, and bare white branches, perfect for decorating with stringed lights and voile, framing the pictures in the winter.
